Big day for little Kiteto! She made such good progress in the last week that we decided it was time for her to get discharged from the ICU and let her join the others at the Elephant House for the night. The video shows Kiteto meeting Malamboni for the first time! Not captured in the video is how Savannah – still out in the bush with her herd – hears Kiteto trumpeting and instantly reacts to the unfamiliar voice. Savannah rushes back to the Elephant House with Burigi and Maswa in tow, to inspect and welcome the new family member. No doubt Savannah will be a great matriarch one day!
