After our other yellow baboon was successfully released, Matze feels a bit lonely and very much enjoys his cuddle time with Laszlo. Unfortunately, Matze is not yet ready to be released back to the wild. His daily hours of bush walks help him to learn all about foraging and – just as importantly – all about baboon socialization. His handler, Sele, encourages Matze to socialize with the resident baboon troop as much as possible, but Matze is still a bit suspicous, as he still remembers how badly he was injured by one of the alpha baboon males one year ago.
