Luckily, our herder found the little duiker baby just in time! In the pouring rain, he found Bambi lying beside her dead mother that had been caught and strangled in a wire snare. He quickly brought her to safety at the Center, then returned to the site with a few helpers to remove the snares and the dead duiker mother – but, much to his surprise, both had been removed! He had rescued Bambi just in the nick of time.
Being absolutely milk-dependant, she is being bottle fed about every 1.5-2 hours!
