In March 2021, this little and most probably orphaned Serval kitten was almost killed by domestic dogs in a private garden in Arusha’s outskirts. She was able to hide in the compost and when KiliCREW came for rescue, she was only skin and bones.
After a few days of drinking kitten milk replacer, as well as eating little bits of meat, she began to recover and even put on weight. She’s a feisty little cat and will be released as soon as she’s old enough.
During her pre-release period a tree fell on the enclosure fence. So Cleopatra managed a self-release from the prerelease enclosure but because of she was at this time already in prerelease training and very fit, the timing was good.
