Common Ostrich

His story

These three ostrich chicks were confiscated from poachers, who were using them for bush meat. After rescue, the rangers took them to Kilimanjaro Animal CREW.
where they spent their first critical days and weeks under a red warming light, to help them keep warm in the absence of the protecting plumage of their parents, and to recover from the stress. They soon picked up condition and strength and developed an insatiable appetite. After growing too big for their initial enclosure, they now roam free around the elephant and zebra area and go for walks on the farm with the baby zebras.
